E-mailPDFPrint

During an emergency, it is important individuals and families remain calm and follow the advice given by public officials and REMO so the right resources can get to you.

Individuals and families can respond during emergencies by:

  • Listening to public announcements on the radio or this website
  • Following evacuation procedures
  • Staying inside if directed to do so while looking after yourself and family for 72 hours
  • Knowing the location of your nearest comfort station for information, basic supplies or to help others in your community
  • Knowing how to take care of your pets during an emergency

REMO responds during emergencies by:

  • Activating an Emergency Operation Center to coordinate the response
  • Releasing public information announcements
  • Supporting First Responder Efforts
  • Enacting State of Emergency if required
  • Coordinating evacuation shelters if required
